Los Túneles is an excellent site to learn about the native vegetation of the arid zone, with trees such as matazarno and palo santo. It is also a prime location to observe Galápagos sea lions, marine iguanas, lava lizards, seahorses, crabs, reef sharks, and occasionally orcas. Birdwatchers can enjoy sightings of tropicbirds, blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, brown pelicans, and cactus finches.
Roca Unión: The tour begins with a visit to this small islet in open waters, where you can spot pelicans, Nazca boobies, blue-footed boobies, and occasionally sea lions resting on the rocks.
Los Túneles: After a short stop, the navigation continues for about 45 minutes to reach one of the most beautiful lava formations in the Galápagos Islands. The site is called Los Túneles because ancient volcanic eruptions created underground lava tunnels that later collapsed, forming spectacular arcs over the water. Here you’ll see crystal-clear waters, vegetation sprouting from the rocks, and sea lions swimming gracefully among the arches.
Finados: The tour continues to this snorkeling site, where you can swim with marine turtles, white-tip reef sharks (tintoreras), golden rays, eagle rays, seahorses, and colorful fish such as surgeonfish and damselfish.
A light box lunch is provided on board after the activities.
Around 2:30 to 3:00 pm, the group returns to Isabela Island.
